Greetings from the Commodore

Hi there – I’m Dave Culm, Commodore of the Humber Sailing Club and I take considerable pride in being a member of an organization that combines all the key ingredients to deliver a winning formula for those of us with the desire to harness the wind and waves as we experience keelboat sailing on Lake Ontario.Commodore - Dave Culm

From when I first joined the club – I knew I had stumbled upon something truly unique – not your typical yacht club experience by any means.

Where else could I have …?

  • Been so readily welcomed by such a friendly group of sailors – just like myself – looking to enjoy some good times out on the water?

  • Secured unlimited use of a fleet of 24 to 31 foot keel boats for daytime sailing, racing, or flotilla cruises?

  • Discovered so many experienced members who readily share their skills and knowledge via mentoring, skills clinics, and winter seminars – all included within an already very modest club fee?

  • Enjoyed such close camaraderie with a wonderful bunch of people whether we are out for a perfect day of sailing, working together to maintain the boats, getting together at one of the club’s social events, or doing a charter cruise in the Caribbean during the winter months?

Let’s face it – we sailors are all dreamers – always looking ahead to that next horizon. Well, I can assure you that the Humber Sailing Club will provide you with all you need to hone your skills, build your confidence on the water, and, most importantly of all, make those connections with other sailors that will allow you to realize all of your sailing dreams.

I’ll look forward to seeing you soon – at the club and out on the water.

Dave Culm, Commodore – Humber Sailing Club
